Is the cash back that I receive some kind of "bonus points" or "credits" to be used ONLY when I shop through Hoopla Doopla?
No! It's all CASH BACK paid to you. You receive it in quarterly payments throughout the year via the payment method you provide to us, which is either mailed check, or PayPal direct deposit.

Is the cash back I receive considered income?
Yes! Your Hoopla Doopla earnings are considered income. If your earnings from us exceed $600 over the course of a calendar year, we are required by law to provide you with at 1099 for your tax preparation. In this case, you will be contacted by us via email, and be asked to log into your account and provide us with your social security number and a mailing address so we can prepare your 1099. For no other reason will we ask you for this information, as stated in our Privacy Policy.

Using Hoopla Doopla

What EXACTLY do I have to do to earn cash back on my purchases?
To earn your cash back, simply log into your account, click one of our merchant's links or a "Shop Now" button. You will be taken directly to the merchant's website. Immediately after that, make a purchase on their website as you normally would do if you went directly there. That's it! We will track your steps along the way, and credit your cash back when we receive it from the merchant. You can check the status of the transaction, see your cleared and pending earnings, and recent activity on your Transactions and Payments page.

When making a purchase on a merchant's site, can I use additional coupon/promotional codes that I find elsewhere?
No! Only coupon/promotional codes found on Hoopla Doopla may be used on our merchant's sites at checkout, as these are provided to us by the merchant. Use of other coupon/promotional codes NOT found on Hoopla Doopla WILL NOT guarantee cash back on your transaction. Merchant's do not credit us for the use of them, therefore, we can not credit you.

I don't see any coupons/promotions listed for a specific merchant. Can I still shop?
Yes! At times, companies may not have any coupons/promotions available. In this case, just click the "Shop Now" button and make your purchase. You still earn the shown cash back!

How do I change my password?
You can change your password in your Account Information page at any time. Just type an new one in the text fields provided, and click the "Update My Information" button at the bottom of the page.

I want to make multiple purchases at separate times from a particular merchant. Do I need to return to Hoopla Doopla, and click on links for each transaction?
Yes. The reason for this is, each time you complete a transaction and leave the merchant's site or close your browser, your tracking information is lost. This just allows us to track each purchase. This only applies for SEPARATE orders. For multiple items within the same purchase, you will receive cash back on the total purchase.

How do I add a merchant to the "My Favorite Merchants" section of My Home page?
To add a favorite merchant, simply click the "Add to Favorites" button on the merchants home page for the merchant you wish to add. You can now see all the deals from this merchant and shop right from My Home page.

How do I close out my account? What happens to any cash back currently owed to me?
You may close your account at any time risk free by clicking the cancel your account link on your Account Information page. Simply fill out the form and submit it to us, and your account will be closed. If there is a balance owed to you in your account, you may choose to have this direct deposited into your PayPal account, or have a check mailed to you to the mailing address you have on file with us. The payment will be sent the next time we issue payments at the end of a quarter.

When should I receive my cash back payment?

Why do I not see a purchase posted to my Transactions and Payments page?
Transactions may not be posted to your Transactions and Payments page for a few reasons.

1. Has it been more than 7-10 days since the purchase?
In most cases, you will see your cash back posted within 10 days of your purchase. Some purchases may take longer to post depending on the merchant. For instance, travel arrangements get credited when the stay is complete, not when booked. When the merchant credits us for the transaction, we credit you.

2. Did you use a coupon or promotional code found elsewhere on the web when you completed the transaction at the merchants checkout?
As stated in our Terms of Use and above, only coupon and promotional codes found on Hoopla Doopla may be used on our merchants sites at checkout.

3. Was www.hoopladoopla.com the FINAL click you made before making the purchase on the merchants website?
Hoopla doopla must be the FINAL click you make before the purchase. If you visit the merchant directly by typing their web address in your browser, or click to them from another site, we DO NOT have the transaction recorded and cannot credit you cash back.

4. If you booked travel arrangements, did you complete the action?
If you book a hotel, rented a car, etc., the cash back is not rewarded to you on the reservation only. You must complete the action to be credited. After that, the merchant pays us the commission. It is at this time that we post the cash back to your account.

How can I check the cash back status of purchases I made?

How much will I get back from each purchase I make?
Our cash back earnings vary with each merchant we feature on our site. The amount you earn earn is based on the net purchase amount, which excludes shipping and taxes.

I recently made a VERY large purchase which I do not see posted to my account. Why?
Large purchases are subject to credit card fraud. Our merchants notify us of suspicious activity. If you made a large purchase and qualify for a large commission, we may contact you via email to verify the purchase. This is simply to keep us in good standing with our merchants.

I sometimes notice a merchant's cash back amount increases or decreases. Why?
The cash back rates of the merchants we feature on Hoopla Doopla are subject to change from time to time due to reasons from the merchant. We adjustment the rates as we get them.

Is there a minimum quota I must reach each quarter to be paid?
Yes! See below.

1. My payment method is Check. You must have a minimum balance of $10 in cleared transactions to receive a mailed check. If your balance is less than $10, your balance will carry over to the next payment period.

2. My payment method is PayPal. You must have a minimum balance of $5 in cleared transactions to receive a PayPal direct deposit. If your balance is less than $5, your balance will carry over to the next payment period. You must have a PayPal account to receive direct deposit payments. When the payment is sent, you should receive an e-mail from PayPal, notifying you that you have received a payment from us.

Are there any fees applied to the payments I receive each quarter?
No! There are no fees charged to you for receiving checks or PayPal deposits from us.

Is there a maximum deposit I can receive?
For mailed checks, there is no limit. For PayPal, there is a $10,000 per month single-payment maximum allowed. If the amount we owe you exceeds $10,000 for one pay period, we will break the deposit into multiple payments.

I have not received a payment, and it is past the quarterly payment due date. Why?
There could be a few reasons why you did not receive your payment.

1. Did your earnings meet the minimum balance requirements?

2. Is your PayPal email address or check mailing address correct in your Account Information page?
Your Account Information page contains your current payment method we use to pay you. Always make sure the PayPal or Check mailing address is correct. Due to the high volume of payments we issue, we are not able to resend payments due to incorrect PayPal or mailing addresses.

If the answers to both of the above questions are "Yes", then contact us.

Why is there a 90 day waiting period for transactions to fully clear as cash back to me?
When you see a transaction posted to your Transactions and Payments page, this means it was credited to us by the merchant, and we credited it to you.

Due to risks such as fraud purchases, returned merchandise, canceled orders or other actions you may take to terminate your order with our merchants, they have instated a 90 day waiting period to make your transaction official. During this 90 day period, our merchants can withdraw the transaction back from us if one of the instances mentioned above occurs. After 90 days, the cash back on the transaction posted to your account is officially yours! The ONLY reason for this 90 day waiting period is to protect us and the merchant against such instances. We mark your transactions with YELLOW and GREEN bullets to indicate the status of the transactions.

YELLOW bullet - A yellow bullet next to your transaction indicates that the merchant has sent us the cash back for your purchase, and we posted it to your account. You received your credit for your transaction. The transaction now has to clear a 90 day "waiting period" (explained above) for it to clear as cash toward your quarterly payment.

GREEN bullet - A green bullet next to a transaction indicates that the 90 day waiting period for your transaction has passed, and the cash back amount you earned is yours! It will be applied to your next quarterly payment that is sent to you.

What qualifies as a referral?
A qualified referral is a referral that that has created an account, and is actively shopping and earning cash back. Once their purchases have cleared 90 days, they now become payable to you. Your total qualified referrals are is shown in your Referrals Summary under Active Referrals.

How do I get referrals?
We provide three simple to use options for you to get referrals. See below.

Option 1 - Tracking Link. Place it on your website, blog, social networking page, in your email, anywhere you like! Accounts created from clicks from this link become referrals.

Option 2 - Banners and Logos. Get banners and logos for your website, blog and more with your tracking link embedded.

Option 3 - Send Emails. Contact referrals by sending them emails using our form. They will each be sent an email from us with a link to Hoopla Doopla telling them that you recommended us! Accounts created from these sent emails become referrals.

Is there a minimum or maximum limit to the amount of referrals I can generate?
No, there are no limits. The more you generate, the more income you earn!

What are "Inactive Referrals"?
Inactive referrals are referrals who signed up, but have NOT made a purchase to earn cash back. Once they make a purchase and have a cash back balance in their account, they are moved into Active Referrals. At this point, they are now contributing to your earnings.

I see purchases on my Referral Shopping Activity page for a long period of time. Why?
Purchases displayed on your Referral Shopping Activity page after a few payment periods means that the member who made the purchase has not qualified for a payment. Therefore, it has not been paid out to you yet.

Shop for a Cure

What is "Shop for a Cure?"
Shop for a Cure is a program available to Hoopla Doopla members that raises money for cancer research. All of the money raised through this program is donated to The American Cancer Society.

How does the program work?
By giving you the option to participate in the Shop for a Cure program, Hoopla Doopla allows you to donate a percentage of your cash back earnings to cancer research. If you participate in the program, your donations are removed from your cash back payment at the end of each quarter before your it is sent to you.

Example. If you earn $100 in cash back in a particular quarter, and your specified contribution is 20%, we remove $20 from your earnings. You then receive $80, and $20 gets donated to The American Cancer Society.

Hoopla Doopla even contributes! At the end of each payment quarter, all member donations are added up. Hoopla Doopla will then make a company donation equal to 10% of the total of ALL member donations! The more YOU donate, the more Hoopla Doopla donates!

How do I participate in the program?
Just go to your Account Information page, complete the "Shop for a Cure Cancer Donation Program" information, and click the "Update My Information" button at the bottom.

Is there a minimum contribution?
Yes. The minimum contribution is 10% of your quarterly earnings. This is the minimum donation The American Cancer Society will accept to participate in the program. You may contribute as much as you want between 10% and 100% of your quarterly earnings.

Once I participate, how do I change my contribution?
Go to your Account Information page, choose your new contribution percentage in the "Shop for a Cure Cancer Donation Program" information, and click the "Update My Information" button at the bottom.

How do I opt out of Shop for a Cure?
Go to your Account Information page, uncheck the "YES! I would like fight cancer with Hoopla Doopla!" in the "Shop for a Cure Cancer Donation Program" information, and click the "Update My Information" button at the bottom.

PLEASE NOTE: You may opt in and out of the program as often as you like. Whatever your setting is at the time payments are issued, that will determine whether a contribution is made or not.

Troubleshooting

I just completed a purchase on a merchant's site through Hoopla Doopla. When I returned to Hoopla Doopla, it said that my session has expired. Why?
The reason your session with Hoopla Doopla was timed out was because your account was inactive for more than twenty minutes. We time out your session for security purposes, so your information is safe and secure. This did not falter your purchase tracking in any way.

When I click on a merchant's link through Hoopla Doopla, it does not take me to the merchant's site. I get a white screen, or I am stuck on the "Taking you to..." screen. What is happening?
This is a browser security issue. Visit our Browser Compatibility page for instructions on how to set up your browser to use Hoopla Doopla properly. For further information, check the "Help" section in your web browser.
